Description

The image of these two people setting off on their journey into the wide open world reminded me of Rudyard Kipling’s story ‘The cat that walked by himself’. ‘Out in the Wet Wild Woods all the wild animals gathered together where they could see the light of the fire a long way off, and they wondered what it meant’.

This solar plate etching was created from a photograph taken by Marianne Nix in the Austrian mountains.

Each print is hand inked and wiped so there will be a variation in tone.
